Frequently Asked Questions

We hope you will feel welcome when you come to Pavilion. Here are some of the frequently asked questions which might be helpful for you. Please do not hesitate to contact us at the Church Office on admin@rpchurch.org.uk.

What time should I arrive?

The service starts at 11:00am.
We serve free tea and coffee before the start of the service from 10:40am, so we suggest arriving at least 15 minutes early so you have time to find a seat and get any information you might need.

What should I wear?

We are a relaxed and welcoming church. Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

Where can I get information?

Our Welcome Team are available to answer any questions, help you find a seat, or anything else you might need. As you enter the building you will see the Welcome Desk which is manned before and after the service. This is where you can pick up lots of written information, sign up for activities, and ask any questions you might have.

Do I need a Bible?

The main Bible reading is printed in the news sheet but if you have your own Bible you are welcome to bring it along.

Do I have to give money?

We usually take up an offering during each service as part of our worship of God. The money supports Christian work in this church and around the world. We encourage members of the church to give regularly but please don’t feel obligated to contribute while you are just visiting us.

How do you celebrate Communion and can I join in?

We celebrate Communion at our Sunday morning service. The bread and wine is usually served from the front. Anyone who knows Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord is welcome to take communion with us, regardless of their church background.
If you’re not sure what this means, or you feel uncomfortable about taking bread and wine, please feel free to remain seated. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic wine are served and we offer gluten-free bread. We like to include the children so we offer red grapes and bread.

Where should I go after the service?

Free drinks and snacks are served after the Sunday morning service so if you have the chance to stick around and chat this is a great opportunity to get to know new people.

Is there someone who can pray with me?

Our prayer ministry team is available during our Sunday morning services or at the end of the service. They are at the back of the church, please ask someone at the desk if you need someone to take time and pray with you. They will be happy to pray with you or just to listen if you would like to talk to someone.

What about children and teenagers?

Children and young people join us for the worship at the start of the service and we announce when it is time for them to go to their groups.
Parents should drop the children off at their groups and collect them at the beginning of communion. Teenagers are usually happy to make their own way to their group. All our children and youth workers have a DBS Certificate and operate under our safeguarding policy.
If you have any questions about children's and youth work please ask a member of the Welcome Team, or contact the Church Office.
