During the COVID-19 crisis, Bourn-Running is unable to hold any classes until further notice. However, resources are provided below to help you complete your couch to 5k.
is an initiative working in partnership with the Rowheath Pavilion Church that provides opportunities for people to improve their physical fitness and sense of well-being through running.
Once Bourn-running is able to resume running sessions, the following are available to the community during term time:
Couch to 5k
For adult beginners with little or no experience of running and who want to improve their overall fitness levels.
The 10-week course is usually held on Friday mornings at 9:15am, and also on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm (Summer term only).
An introduction to Running
If the Couch to 5k seems too daunting right now, we offer a very gentle introduction to running. These half hour sessions are on Wednesday mornings at 8:30am.
A more intensive session aimed at increasing current fitness. Ideal for adults who have just completed the Couch to 5K course or who have been running a year or two and want to improve their running form as well as fitness.
Sessions are at 9:30am and 7pm on Wednesdays (7:30pm during the summer term only).
We now offer the community the opportunity to join our new walking group on Wednesday mornings at 10:45am.

Any time and space that is devoted to a physical activity like running can improve health and physical fitness, as well as improving mood and self-confidence. Alison Davies is a qualified Coach in Running Fitness (CiRF) through the England Athletics Association. She has been a keen road runner for many years, and is a member of the Bournville Harriers. She has two daughters, two guinea pigs, and she doubts that you can ever own enough trainers…
